Kiln formed glass, also known as cast or fused glass, offers an exciting range of possibilities to create and capture fluid textures, patterns and optical effects by using heat to form and manipulate float glass over refractory moulds. Whether bespoke or standard patterns, kiln formed glass gives a unique beauty, subtlety and tactile quality.
Kiln formed glass is enormously versatile enabling it to be used for both decorative or structural purposes and is suitable for both internal and external applications. A wide range of surface finishes including sandblasting, etching, transparent and opaque colours and mirroring can further enhance these textures.
Common uses for kiln formed/cast glass include: facades and cladding, office partitions, lift lobbies and lift interiors, WC partitions, splashbacks, restaurant screens, office reception areas, receptions desks, feature walls, balustrades, furniture, sculpture, stair treads, flooring, doors, counters, lighting and commissions.
Kiln formed glass is available in standard glass thicknesses and can be toughened/tempered or laminated to the clients’ required specification.
